He's Dead Jim...
For those who didn't hear, James Doohan, "Scotty", died Wednesday at the age of 85.

I have a coworker who met with him a few times, and who had a close friend who was his right-hand man at the last couple conventions he attended. From what I am told, in a small way the world was a far, far better place for having known Jimmy Doohan; most will remember his role as Montgomery Scott, others will talk of his radio roles and his facility for accents, some will talk of his having stormed the beach at Normandy and the scars he bore thereafter.
All in all, though, he was one helluva guy, and he will be sorely missed.
